From the historic tea fields of Kyoto, our Hōjicha is a masterfully roasted green tea renowned for its comforting warmth and smooth, mellow flavour. Crafted from a precise balance of tea leaves and stems, it is expertly pan-roasted over high heat to coax out deep, toasty aromas and a rich amber liquor.
Unlike other Japanese green teas, Hōjicha’s roasting process transforms the fresh vegetal notes into layers of roasted hazelnut, toasted barley, and caramelised sugar, rounded with a whisper of warm cocoa. This transformation also lowers caffeine content, making it an ideal choice for gentle evening sipping or as a soothing all-day companion.
Our Kyoto Hōjicha celebrates the Japanese art of balance—combining bold, roasted depth with a clean, smooth finish. It pairs beautifully with both savoury dishes and sweet treats, offering a versatile, comforting tea experience that is as grounding as it is refined.
